Scene opens on Leah (Jane Wilde), a 19-year-old junior counselor at a conservative camp. The shy Jewish teenager has been attending the camp for years, but this will be her first year as a counselor.

You know, Leah, I just think this year's
gonna be good for you.
You're with me now.
I know you've always been worried about your family
not making it enough, but,
everybody knows my family's been a part
of this camp forever, so,
here, keep that on you at all times.
Like I was saying, you know, Sarah and Jessica
and all those other girls,
they're not gonna be able to be as mean to you this year,
now that we're together.
And we're junior counselors, so,
we'll have some time to spend together.
You know I don't care what people think about me.
I know, but, this'll be a lot easier for you.
Family's a big part of this place.
